These are semi-guided sessions and will also be running fully tutored sessions, please see the course listings for details.

16-18 year old’s welcome if they are accompanied by an adult (parent/carer). The parent/carer will be required to book onto the class and give consent. Please email info@artcentrepenryn.org before booking.

No under 16s.

Draw along to music, with brain stimulating warm-up exercises to help you loosen up or discover/rediscover your personal approach to drawing.

These relaxed life drawing sessions are ideal for getting out of a creative rut and into a state of flow. These semi-guided classes are designed to feed into your creative practice, whatever your drawing ability.

The classes are body-inclusive; working with a diverse pool of life models each week.

MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT:

Bring your own materials, or buy materials from the Art Centre Penryn at low cost.
Suggested drawing materials: charcoal, pastel, pencils, pens, ink
Suggested paper: A3+ recycled paper & newsprint
The Art Centre have A1 and A2 drawing boards and clips with 10 easels (offered on a first come, first served basis, or people could swap during the session). Alternatively, the drawing boards can be comfortably used sitting down and resting on trestles.

Please note:

The room temperature will be adjusted using infra-red and fan heaters for the model’s comfort during the session. Please dress appropriately for sessions as the space may get hot and ensure to bring water to drink.

Art Centre Penryn and Life Drawing Lab provide safe and inclusive spaces in which to work and be creative. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any disrespectful or offensive behaviour. The code of conduct displayed at the art room must be followed.
